We also offer additional enrichment classes in the areas of Reading + Writing, Mathematics, Keyboarding, Ukulele and Violin. Our programs are facilitated by dedicated educators and specialists who bring together their wealth of experiences to provide the most outstanding educational opportunities to enrich and empower the lives of children.
Musical Adventures
The purpose of this program is to spark excitement and develop in children an appreciation for classical music. Musical concepts and skills are creatively woven into each lesson so the focus remains on imaginative fun. Each lesson comfortably draws children into the intriguing world of classical music as they quickly embrace drama, song, movement, instrument play and art. Here children have opportunities to experience classical music in ways that are meaningful and significant to them.
Awesome Arts and Crafts
The Arts and Crafts program at Early Achievers, focuses on the development of the creative mind. There are mega opportunities to get creative when there are endless arts and craft supplies to interest everyone’s needs. There’s painting, drawing, molding, gluing, clay, pastels, paper and more; all at your finger tips. Educators guide children by demonstrating how to create seasonal crafts or a one of a kind masterpiece.
Super Science Club
How can you extend science knowledge and skills in after-school? Through fun, hands-on, innovative activites that explore science through inquiry-based learning and with real-world problems and projects. At Early Achievers the Science Club offers enriching experiences where children experiment with fun scientific activities to help develop important skills, such as observing, predicting and problem solving. These activities help to stimulate a child’s natural curiosity and eagerness to explore. Children discover through “Hands on” experiments where there’s plenty of opportunities to engage in foamy, bubbly, slimy educational fun!
Amazing Artists
This art curriculum begins with a multi-media assembly using slides, artist voices, and music where the students learn about the fascinating lives and famous works of the Master Artists such as Monet, Van Gogh, Matisse, and discovering first hand their different Artistic styles. After learning the inspiration and techniques of each Artist, the students are ready for the real fun where they are guided through their own art project following the Artists techniques.
Our interactive classes enhance a child’s creativity while offering opportunities to explore different media and styles. Students will be introduced to a variety of elements and principles of Art by experienced educators who help the students discover their own creativity while developing confidence in their own unique abilities.
Dynamic Drama
Drama in a student’s life gives many opportunities to use imagination, to act, and explore in a fun way. Through individual and group activities, early participation in Drama develops confidence, self expression and language skills. Drama also enhances social skills and creative learning.
Our Drama classes serve as a wonderful introduction to acting and a lifelong enjoyment of creative arts. Our exciting interactive classes introduce children to Drama through the world of mime, masks, movement and more!!!! Students learn what happens behind the scenes, from sound effects to props and costumes.
The Marvelous Math Club
From simple addition and subtraction to algebra and geometry, math skills are central to students’ success, both in school and in the world beyond the classroom. The after-school environment at Early Achievers is ideal for providing activities that bring these math concepts to life.
Making math fun is what we are all about! Using a variety of manipulatives, interactive materials, Children’s Literature and games convinces children that “Mathematics is Marvelous”. Integrating Math concepts into the child’s afternoon; introduces, reinforces and strengthens Mathematical concepts by using fun hands on activities without the children even realizing that learning is taking place.
Homework Club
Although there are multiple reasons to include homework in after school programs, perhaps the most compelling reason is that homework help can increase student achievement. In fact, research suggests that when students have the homework support they need, they are more likely to do better in school. Effective homework can foster independent, life-long learning and Early Achievers can play an important role in supporting this academic achievement.
We try to promote a healthy homework routine each day to small groups of children. We understand that some parents prefer to complete homework with their own child at home so we therefor ask that you complete the homework section on the registration form indicating if you would like your child to be part of the Homework Club.
Please Note: The After School staff assist each child the best that they can. They do not have time however, to work on lengthy projects or assignments.
Language and Literacy
Integrating Language Arts into afternoon activities is quite simple. At Early Achievers there are many opportunities to focus on helping children develop rich vocabularies and broaden knowledge, opportunities for refined speaking and listening skills, as well as to enhance the development of reading and writing. Through small and large group activities that promote Language and Literacy, children are able to refine these necessary skills.
Tech & Design
Creative experiences in the areas of coding, building, engineering, innovation, and technology. Exploring with technology and design allows for creativity and freedom. Kids have big imaginations so why not tap in to it and enhance their learning? Many skills are learned from interacting with technology such as socialization, relationship building, independence, empowerment, problem solving, and perseverance. The freedom of expression allows a child to take an idea and transform it into a reality.
